EXPERIENCE
Leavitt’s Freight Service is a full service flatbed carrier. Our company entered the trucking industry in 1958 and has grown to one of the primary players in the transportation of utility poles and engineered wood products as well as general flatbed commodities. Our drivers are trained and experienced in handling delicate and fragile products such as produce and steel decking as well extra long and wide loads. Some of the commodities we transport with great regularity are trusses, decking, steel coils and pipe, roofing, lumber, insulation, as well as general and palletized building materials in addition to poles, piling and engineered forest products and laminated beams. We have built a strong reputation for handling our varied commodity base without damage.
COMPANY SIZE
We began as a small trucking company with a few trucks that were driven by the owners. We have grown to a fleet size of 80 trucks, providing family wage earning positions for well over 100 employees.
FLEET COMPOSITION and LENGTH CAPACITY.
Our fleet size is currently at 80 trucks consisting of company owned trucks and a growing fleet of owner operators giving our customers added assurance that their loads will be delivered in a timely manner. For those customers who have products that are over length such as long pipe or steel, we have specialized equipment to accommodate these commodities. WIDTH CAPACITY
Over the past several years, the
transportation of wide loads have become an increasingly larger part of our commodity
base. With the use of our specialized equipment we are able to transport these types of
loads with great success and safety. We can, and have, transported loads up to the limits
set by the states.
WEIGHT CAPACITY
The weight capacity of our equipment is best broken down into three categories:
- Our entire flatbed fleet can transport weights up to 50,000# throughout the 48 states, Alaska and Canada.
- The equipment in our fleet specially designed to handle lengths from 75’ to 95’ can transport up to 48,000# throughout the 48 states and most of Canada.
- We have four trucks equipped to haul up to 65,000# in North and South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Utah. These trucks can haul up to 60,000# in British Columbia and Alberta.
SERVICES
Our services to our customers vary as much as the needs of our customers vary. With great regularity we provide delivery to jobsites and field locations, and "just in time" deliveries to assist our customers in avoiding the need for storing the product in quantities. We can help them with their planning so the product arrives "just in time" to be placed into the construction project. We are happy to provide 24-hour notice prior to delivery if requested by the customer.
TRAFFIC LANES
Our trucks are licensed for all 48 states plus Alaska, as well as the Canadian Provinces. We have the best coverage for our customers in the eleven western states. However, we do transport loads across the country on a regular basis. During recent years we have sent many trucks to the disaster stricken areas of the Midwest and East.
