Heavy Haul

EXPERIENCE Leavitts Freight Service is a full service flatbed carrier, but our specialty is the movement of loads up to 150 in length. Our company entered the trucking industry in 1958 and has grown to one of the primary players in the transportation of utility poles and engineered wood products. Our drivers are trained and experienced in handling extra long loads as well as lengths as short as 25 and other general commodities. With equipment that is specially suited to the task, we have built a strong reputation for transporting and unloading these loads without damage. COMPANY SIZE We began as a small trucking company with a few trucks that were driven by the owners. We have grown to a fleet size of 80 trucks, providing family wage earning positions for well over 100 employees. EQUIPMENT and LENGTH CAPACITY Our fleet size is currently at 80 trucks. Fourteen of our trucks are configured to handle loads up to 95 in length. Seven are equipped to pull steerable trailers for the movement of loads exceeding 95 in length. Four of our flatbed units are configured to handle extra weight. Eight have a boom apparatus on board for the purpose of self loading or unloading. Two of these boom-equipped trucks is also configured to handle extra weight. With only a few exceptions, all our trucks are cabovers.

WEIGHT CAPACITY The weight capacity of the equipment is best broken down into five categories:
NOTE: Use of these heavy haul trucks can often reduce the total number of loads necessary to transport a multiple truck order by placing extra weight on each truck. They can be a great tool in reducing our customers freight costs. SERVICES Our services to our customers vary as much as the needs of our customers vary. With great regularity we provide delivery to jobsites and field locations, and "just in time" deliveries to assist our customers in avoiding the need for storing the product in quantities. We can help them with their planning so the product arrives "just in time" to be placed into the construction project. We are happy to provide 24-hour notice prior to delivery if requested by the customer. TRAFFIC LANES Our trucks are licensed for all 48 states plus Alaska, as well as the Canadian Provinces. We have the best coverage for our customers in the eleven western states. However, we do transport loads across the country on a regular basis. |
